This course will present a broad overview of the policies, organization, and administrations that fall under Homeland Security at the federal, state, and local level. The course incorporates both key concepts and the role of the criminal justice system, as well as the role of the police and the courts when implementing homeland security. Students will come away with a solid understanding of the central issues surrounding homeland security, including policy concepts, political, and legal responses. Applicable toward graduation at Sandburg where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate: AA, AS, AAS, AGS, and Certificate where applicable (1.1)
