MUS 107 - Music in the Theatre

This course is a survey of western traditions and elements of music in the theatre including opera, operetta, and Broadway musicals. Students will examine text, music, and performance media as methods for communicating the philosophic and aesthetic movements of composers, lyricists, performers, and their eras. No previous music experience is required.
