AUT 256 - Automotive Heating and Air Conditioning Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hours: 2 Lab Hours: 2
This course explores the core principles and practical applications essential for understanding and mastering automotive HVAC systems. Students will explore temperature and pressure fundamentals, gaining insight into the properties of refrigerants and their role in heating and cooling processes. Through in-depth study of heating and cooling systems, including components, control mechanisms, and refrigerants, students will develop the skills needed to diagnose and repair system issues effectively. The course emphasizes hands-on training in refrigeration system testing and diagnostics, enabling students to interpret test results and utilize diagnostic tools to troubleshoot common problems such as leaks and inefficiencies.
