MAT 111 - Math Elementary Teaching 1 Credit(s): 3 Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0
This course is designed primarily for those students who intend to become elementary school teachers. The emphasis in this course is on mathematical reasoning, problem solving. Topics include: whole numbers, prime numbers, divisibility, rational numbers, arithmetic operations, place value, percents and ratios. Students will use different representations of concepts. Applicable toward graduation at Sandburg where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate: AA, AS, AAS, AGS, and Certificates where applicable (1.1)
Offered: Fall Prerequisite(s): MAT 099 with a grade of C or better or two years of high school algebra and one year of high school geometry C or better. General Education: Not Applicable-Elective Only
