This course examines the purpose and function of leisure services delivered by governmental, non-profit, and private agencies. This introductory course is a requirement for the associates’s degree for transfer to the Recreation, Park and Tourism program at Western Illinois University. Assigments, projects and learning experiences are designed to give students an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of leisure; the infrastrustures that have developed to provide leisure opportunities for the widest possible range of people; and expose students to the variety of careers in leisure services. Applicable toward graduation at Sandburg where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate: AA, AS, AAS, AGS, and Certificates where applicable. (1.1)
