This course provides a comprehensive understanding of engineering statics with a primary focus on the analysis of the forces and their effects on the rigid bodies in the equilibrium state. The topics covered include particle statics, general principles and force vectors, rigid body equilibrium, moments of inertia, parallel axis theorem, distributed forces and centroids, analysis of structures, and friction. Applicable toward graduation at Sandburg where program structure permits: Degree or Certificate: AA, AS, AFA, AAS, AGS, and Certificates where applicable (1.1)
