EDU 203 - Educating Exceptional Learners

Students will be introduced to learners with exceptionalities, including the historical, legal, and philosophical foundations of special education as identified by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Students will examine Universal Design for Learning (UDL), differentiation, and inclusive practices. Emphasis will be placed on diversity, intersectionality, and the assets exceptional learners bring to the classroom.
Applicable toward graduation at Sandburg where program structure permits:
AA, AS, AAS, AGS, and Certificates where applicable (1.1)
